Explore the Foundation Stage (Early Years)
Our unique ‘Three School Model’ starts in the Lower School where our students begin their learning journey in the Foundation Stage. Each area of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum has an Early Learning Goal, (ELG) which is the standard that a child is expected to achieve by the end of Foundation Stage 2.
This is a holistic, creative and very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school, as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes. At WIS, we believe that your child should experience a happy, active, exciting, fun and secure learning environment; encouraging them to be challenged and take risks along the way, all the time being supported and developed by our highly trained and dedicated Early Years Team.
Areas of Learning
The ELG covers all of the seven areas of learning as specified in the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum for England which are:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts & Design

Enrich, Excite, Explore
Outside of the classroom, our Enrich, Excite, Explore (EEE) extra-curricular program cultivates the wide range of gifts and talents that our students have; where we offer a wide range of activities before, during, and after school across five domains; (STEM, Creative, Language and Literature, Music and Performing Arts, and Wellbeing), this enables students who have a variety of different interests to choose a bespoke provision that best suits their individual needs
