Assistant Headteacher - Student Culture and Experience Years 9-11

Having lived and worked in Spain, the UK, Italy, and now the UAE, I have been fortunate to meet people from many different backgrounds and to build connections through a variety of languages. These experiences have profoundly shaped my approach to teaching and supporting young people, instilling in me an appreciation for the importance of empathy.

As Assistant Headteacher for Years 9, 10 and 11, I recognise how pivotal these years are in a young person’s journey. Students face significant academic pressures while also beginning to form their own identities and values. At this stage, relationships are often delicate, and it is vital to build a culture of trust, respect, and transparency. A guiding principle for me is the belief that “children learn more from who you are than what you teach.” I strive to embody this by being a positive role model and fostering a strong support network in which students feel safe, understood, and encouraged to flourish both personally and academically.

I care deeply about the students I work with and believe that the guidance they receive during these formative years plays a decisive role in shaping their future. My goal is to ensure that they leave WIS with the skills, confidence, and resilience to meet challenges and embrace opportunities beyond school.
