Adam Khan
Head of Year 8
I am an experienced Biology teacher currently in my eighteenth year of teaching and my third year at GEMS Wellington International School. I began my career in the West Midlands before relocating to the UAE in 2022 with my wife and two daughters.
I hold a degree in Biomedical Science and completed my PGCE at the University of Leicester in 2008. Throughout my career, I have taught Biology across Key Stages 3, 4 and post-16, with a strong focus on developing students’ curiosity, scientific literacy, and critical thinking through real-world application.
Alongside my classroom teaching, I have held science leadership roles which have provided valuable insight into curriculum design, staff development, and improving student outcomes. This experience continues to inform my practice both in the classroom and within my pastoral responsibilities.
At WIS, I teach Biology and currently serve as Head of Year 8. In this role, I work closely with students, families, and colleagues to support academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development, ensuring that students feel supported, challenged, and known as individuals.
I am proud to be part of the WIS community and am committed to upholding the school’s values by fostering high expectations, positive relationships, and a supportive learning environment in which every student can thrive.
