Anne Clampett

Head of Middle School

Graduating from the University of Brighton in 2001 with a BA (Hons) Upper Primary/Lower Secondary Education with QTS, I worked initially as a teacher, then a senior leader, in different school settings in the south of England for 15 years. I made the move to the UAE in 2016, working as an Assistant Principal and Designated Safeguarding Lead in a school in Abu Dhabi, followed by a school in Dubai. I am a firm believer in lifelong learning, and I am keen to continuously develop my knowledge and skills as both an educator and a leader. Most recently, I completed a MSc in Educational Leadership and Management through the University of Portsmouth in the UK.

With over 24 years of experience in education, I am honoured to be the Head of Middle School at WIS. I feel incredibly privileged to work with an inspirational team who make a real difference to the lives of young people at a critical time in their education and their development. This phase in a student’s life can be transformational as they further develop their identity and discover their passions.

I am a strong advocate for collaborative learning. I believe that collective effort, mutual support and the sharing of knowledge are fundamental to growth. Furthermore, collaboration amongst all members of the school community is crucial, as it builds the foundations for a supportive environment for students, ensuring that their educational and emotional needs are met. In a diverse context like the UAE, collaboration is even more valuable as it helps to foster an understanding and appreciation for different perspectives.
