Samantha Sullivan

Director Performing Arts

I lead a dynamic and inclusive department committed to excellence in music, drama, and dance. I am a graduate of the Guildford School of Acting, holding a First-Class BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre, and I spent six years performing professionally in the West End, across London, and on UK tours.

With over 15 years of educational experience in the UK and UAE, I have built a career dedicated to inspiring young people through the performing arts. At WIS, I oversee the strategic development of Performing Arts across all phases of the school, supporting both students and staff to achieve outstanding outcomes. My leadership has been central to the success of large-scale productions, international trips, and a vibrant extra-curricular programme.

Previously, I played a key role in developing children’s performing arts programmes at the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy and led the Children’s Department and Part-Time Courses at the Guildford School of Acting, University of Surrey, where I was recognised with a Vice Chancellor’s Award for my contribution to the university.

My expertise spans curriculum design, teacher development, musical theatre direction, and the creation of high-quality, inclusive learning environments. Now in my fifth year at WIS, I continue to drive innovation in the arts, championing international collaboration with partners such as Urdang International, West End Stage, and Shakespeare & Co., ensuring every student has the opportunity to express themselves confidently through performance.
