Georgina Hart
Director of Modern Foreign Languages
I began studying French, German and Latin at the age of 11 at a London secondary school, and quickly realised that languages were my passion. I studied an undergraduate degree in French and German at the University of Manchester. During this time, I was fortunate enough to spend time studying at Université Jean Moulin in Lyon, France, and also work as an English teacher in Graz, Austria. I thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching in Austria, and this ultimately lead to my decision to complete a PGCE in Modern Languages. Prior to moving to Dubai, I worked in two inner-London comprehensive schools where I undertook numerous leadership roles such as; Head of French, Head of Department and Associate Assistant Principal.
Within my role as Director, I am looking forward to continuing to drive outstanding teaching and learning within the MFL Department. As a Department, we hope to instill a love of languages and appreciation of other cultures within our students at WIS. Speaking another language is an invaluable skill that enhances students’ futures, regardless of the career path they choose.
