Daniel Billington
Assistant Headteacher -Director of IBDP
I began my teaching career in the UK in 2012 after completing a degree in Mathematics, and have always been passionate about helping students develop a love and curiosity for mathematics, viewing it not just as a subject but as a way to think critically and solve problems. Alongside this, I have undertaken a range of academic and pastoral leadership roles to gain the experience necessary to fully support students in their holistic development. Since moving to Dubai in 2016, I have held positions at WIS including Director of Mathematics and Assistant Headteacher for Curriculum and Assessment, focusing on improving performance against National Agenda parameters.
This year, I am excited to take on the role of Assistant Headteacher for the IB Diploma Programme. Having been involved in teaching, leading, and supporting the IB for almost 10 years, I am deeply committed to the IB’s mission of fostering inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who can help create a better world through education and intercultural understanding. I am passionate about developing the whole student, combining academic excellence with lifelong skills and values that will empower them to thrive and make a positive impact.
