Meet the Year Leader of Year 9

My name is Maureen Heath and I am the Year Leader for Year 9, my third year with such a talented bunch of pupils.

This is a crucial year for the pupils as they start to think about their futures and during the course of the year they will have to make their option choices for Key Stage 4.

I will continue to expect high standards from them in terms of: behaviour, appearance, attitude to work, punctuality, completion of homework and most importantly achieving their full potential.

I am firmly of the belief that positive thinking, rewarding good behaviour and the praising of pupils in a variety of ways helps pupils feel proud of their achievements rather than being embarrassed. I enjoy celebrating pupil success at every opportunity – whether it is during a year group assembly or when visiting classes, and recognizing merit certificates, good reports, sporting or musical talent both in and out of school.
