Meet the Year Leader of Year 7

Hello, my name is Sarah Kiernan and I am the Head of Year 7. I am really looking forward to supporting the Year 7 pupils in their transition from the Primary School into the Secondary School. This phase is an extremely important time for your child, both in terms of academic success and building the “whole” person. The Year 7 Tutor Team along with my guidance will be there to support your child at every step, to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible. The Form Tutors will meet with their tutees (your children), twice a day every day to answer any questions, they will also individually mentor their tutees approximately every eight weeks, to discuss their progress and set targets for the pupils to reflect on.

I have very high expectations of the pupils both in and outside of the classroom. During the school day, the pupils will be expected to be punctual, prepared for their lessons; in terms of equipment and homework, dressed appropriately and in general exert their maximum effort. Once the school day is officially over; here at Wellington the pupils are extremely fortunate to have many after school activities to take part in, which I will encourage them to do so.
