Exam Boards

GWIS students currently sit exams with the following examination Boards, depending on the subjects they are taking. Please contact the exams officer for more details.

• CIE (University of Cambridge International Exams)
• Edexcel
• WJEC  (Welsh Joint Education Committee)
• AQA (The Assessment and Qualifications  Alliance)

Responsibility of students with regards to their examinations

• Always check your statements of entry to ensure you have been entered for the correct exam.
• Check your name and personal details are correct as this information will appear on your certificates.
• Check your timetable and read the attached documents.

Paying for Examinations

• The exams officer or subject teachers will issue letters for exam payments due.
• Please pay at the cashier with the required letter – a copy must be given to the cashier. Please keep the receipt as refunds can only be processed with the original receipt.  Exam fees are not included in the school fees.
